PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease BOW differences and pitch deviations without depending upon the arrangement intervals in a sub-scanning direction of light emitting points which output respective beams when carrying out simultaneous scanning by the plural beams. SOLUTION: A laser array 50 and a reflection surface 52A of a rotary polygon mirror 52 are put into an afocal and conjugate relation by a collimator lens 56 and the scanning positions of the reflection surface 52A of the rotary polygon mirror 52 and the peripheral surface of a photoreceptor drum 16 are put into the afocal and conjugate relation by first and second cylinder mirrors 64A and 64B. As a result, the plural light beams LB emitted from the respective light emitting points of the laser array 50 are made incident on the reflection surface 52A of the rotary polygon mirror 52 in the state parallel (in the same progression direction) to each other without having an angle in the sub-scanning direction, are deflected, are made incident on the peripheral surface of the photoreceptor drum 16 in the state parallel to each other by an fθlens 62 and the first and second cylinder mirrors 64A and 64B and are imaged respectively on this peripheral surface.
