PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproduction controlling method capable of real time reproduction which can stably maintain the continuity of sector data to be transfer-outputted even when a sector which has to be reproduced becomes discontinuous physically because of being accompanied by alternating processing to an alternating sector to a defective sector. SOLUTION: Near the defective sector accompanied by alternating processing to the alternating sector in reproducing operation, from the position of a previous sector preceding the defective sector (Y of S2), a reproducing speed is improved to a fast reproducing speed faster than a standard reproducing speed (S3) to perform reproducing operation until a replacing sector (S11, S4 to S8) and a series of reproduced sector data are stored in a sector buffer temporarily and then transfer-outputted to the side of a host.
