PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma addressed liquid crystal display device which prevents colors in a monochromatic displaying from mixing due to cross talk so as to provide a display device with excellent color reproducibility and which does not deteriorate a liquid crystal material in the liquid crystal layer and an organic material of the alignment layer so as to have excellent display characteristics and a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: In the plasma addressed liquid crystal display device which is provided with the liquid crystal layer 21, a color filter substrate 11, a dielectric layer 31 and a plasma supporting substrate 51, in which the liquid crystal layer 21 is held between the color filter substrate 11 and the dielectric layer 31, of which the space between the dielectric layer 31 and the plasma supporting substrate 51 is partitioned by ribs 44, of which the anode and cathode electrodes 52, 53 are arranged in a plasma chamber 41 partitioned by the ribs 44 and which is equipped with the liquid crystal display panel switched by changing the plasma state of a rare gas in the plasma chamber 41, permeation preventing electrodes 34, 35 are placed on the dielectric layer 31 corresponding to pixels. |
