PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous resin composition excellent in stability of a coating liquid and to further obtain a laminated material having extremely excellent gas barrier properties and especially excellent gas barrier properties under middle to high humidity and having oil resistance, chemical resistance and flexibility by using the aqueous resin composition. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition comprises an aqueous solution of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymer having 1-10 mol% content of ethylene and a water-swelling phyllosilicate.
