PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper or the like, the side flaps of which do not turn and prevent foreign matter from getting into the insides of the side flaps, and having a good appearance. SOLUTION: In an absorptive article that has a liquid permeable surface sheet, a liquid impermeable leak-proof sheet, and a liquid retaining absorber, and is practically oblong and has a pair of side flaps 7 at the longitudinal right and left sides, the elastic members 71 of flaps are arranged in an expanded state in the side flaps 7 on the rear A and/or the front B so that one ends 71a may be positioned in the leg openings 11 formed when worn and the other end 71b may be moved toward the west opening rim 12, and the flap elastic members 71 are arranged so as to form curves leading outward from the inside of the width direction of the absorptive article in the vicinity of the one ends 71a.
