PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the flowability of a material at the time of pressure molding of a slide member for an artificial joint using ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene as a material to enhance the moldability thereof and to suppress oxidation during and after molding. SOLUTION: In a method for molding the slide member for the artificial joint by molding ultrahigh-molecular weight polyethylene into a required shape under pressure, pressure molding is performed under predetermined reduced pressure.
