PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer which enables effective prevention of a recording medium curled by heating or the like from coming into contact with a noncontact heater on the occasion of noncontact heat treatment of the recording medium. SOLUTION: Printing is made on the recording medium P having the thermoplastic resin layer Pc to be the resin film by heating, while the medium P is fed, and the printed part of the recording medium P is subjected to heat treatment, while the medium P is fed, in the ink jet printer 1. The printer 1 is equipped with recording medium feeding mechanisms 13 and 19, a printing head 10, a noncontact heater 61 constituted of a pair of heaters 62 heating the printed part of the medium P and facing each other on the opposite sides of a feeding route 21 of the recording medium P and heater moving mechanisms 122, 123 and 124 which can regulate a dimension of separation between the paired heaters 62. |
