PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine-driving device in tobacco-processing industry, equipped with a driving machine element and a driven machine element, and to provide a method of monitoring the wear of the driving device. SOLUTION: This machine-driving device in tobacco-processing industry, characterized by disposing a first measuring value-forming device 30 for forming the first value corresponding to the driving value of a driving machine element 10 on the driving machine element, disposing a second measuring value-forming device 31 for forming the second value corresponding on the driving value of a driven machine element 13 on the driven machine, and disposing a signal- treating device 15 attached to the measuring value-forming devices 30 and 31. This method of monitoring the wear of the driving device, characterized by recording the first value which is the driving degree of at least one driving machine element, recording the second value which is the driven degree of at least one driven machine element, and comparing the recorded values with each other.
