PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar display device that enables a large capacity of image data to be realized. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a liquid crystal panel 12 that constitutes an effective display area consisting of plural horizontal pixel lines L1,...L2400, a first signal line driving circuit 24-ACU1 that is connected to a signal line 16a for each first prescribed number and that outputs a corresponding analog image signal Vs, a second signal line driving circuit 26-ACD1 that is connected to a signal line 16b for each second prescribed number and that outputs a corresponding analog image signal Vs, and a control circuit 34 that parallelly receives image signals corresponding to the first and the second areas and that newly arranges each image signal to output to the first and the second signal line driving circuits.
