PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide operation history collection system, server and method by which history of reading and operation by a client are accurately collected even when the download time of the contents is different from the reading and operating time of the contents and to provide also a recording medium having an operation history collection program and a contents added program recorded thereon. SOLUTION: A server 1 applies a program p1, user ID x and contents ID c1 for recording the history of user's reading and operation and uploading the history of reading and operation to the server 1 to contents y1 to be downloaded to a client 3, downloads these data to the client 3, records the history of user's reading and operation uploaded from the client 3 as operation history under the control of the program p1, and records the contents name y1 and user ID x of the contents to be downloaded to the client 3 as download history.
