<p>The drive has an electric motor with a drive connection to a linearly movable driven element that interacts with a lever (62), which interacts with a part of the furniture for adjustment of the part. The lever (62) which interacts with the linearly movable driven element is movable between an initial position in which the force exerted on the part by the lever acts essentially in the direction of motion of the driven element and an end position, in which the adjustment force acts at an angle to the movement direction. The lever or a part (68) of the system with a force transfer connection to it is supported on a supporting surface (70) in at least one end position so that the supporting surface takes up at least part of the reaction force of the adjusted part.
