Novel live porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus attenuated by mutations in specific site of viral protein coded by specified open reading frames, useful for prophylaxis/treatment of viral infections

A live attenuated porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus (I) comprising open reading frame (ORF) 1a, 1b and 2 essentially as in VR-2332 which is not RespPRRS, where at least one of the amino acids (a.as) in position 321-341 of ORF 1a, a.as in position 936-956 of ORF 1b and/or a.as in position 1-20 of ORF 2, is/are not identical to a.as of VR 2332 at corresponding positions, is new. A live attenuated porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus (I) comprising open reading frame (ORF) 1a, 1b and 2 comprises 2504, 1458 and 257 amino acids fully defined in the specification, respectively. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a nucleotide sequence (II) coding for (I); (2) generation of (I); and (3) a pharmaceutical composition (III) comprising (I).
