PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler box in close contact between its container part and its lid. SOLUTION: This cooler box is so designed that the side rim of the inner shell 12 of a lid 2 on which the upper end of the flank of a container part 1 is to be abutted when the lid 2 is closed on the container part 1 represents a recess 15 toward the outer shell 11 over the whole periphery, and the recess 15 lies open horizontally outward as well; the inside flank of the recess 15 is curved so as to swell toward the inside of the inner shell 12 and ensured to coincide with the sidewall of the container part 1; the recess 15 has a width nearly coincident with the thickness of the sidewall of the container part 1 and its height (depth) is set at about 3-10 mm.
