PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a metallic component for a device for treating a molten material particularly glass molten material to be cooled, which can be introduced into a gas space above the molten material or into the molten material through the gas space without causing any corrosion of the metal surface or any crystal formation and can reduce or eliminate the danger of electric short circuit due to a condensed material. SOLUTION: This component has a base body made of a metal or a metal alloy and a cooling system. A cooling medium is guided through the component to release the heat, and a coating consisting of a material having a decomposition temperature lower than the temperature of the molten material is provided on the base body. The cooling system is constituted and arranged so that the temperature of the boundary layer of the molten material directly surrounding the structural part is lower than the decomposition temperature of the coating material.
