PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a tape from tangling around a receiving plate in a mistaken start. SOLUTION: A taping machine to start a series of actions of tightening a tape loop, cutting and bonding a tape, and forming a next tape loop when a sensor 22 senses a work, or the sensor 22 senses the work and a start switch 16 is pressed, comprises a means 64 which monitors the output signal of the sensor 22 before the bonding after starting the operation to judge the presence/ absence of the work, and a means 65 to stop the energization to a heater 49 to implement the bonding when the judging means 64 judges that no work is present. A heater control means 62 turns OFF the heater control signal by the signal from the stopping means 65, and the energization to the heater 49 is stopped. Since the heater 49 is not heated, the tape is not bonded, and the tape is prevented from being tangled.
