The invention relates to oxide coatings and can be used in mechanical engineering, in addition to the chemical and petrochemical industries. A thin-coat ceramic finish consists of crystals of alpha-Al2O3 having a filiform structure with alternating arched and spiral areas and which are disposed within a matrix of gamma-Al2O3 and mullite 3 A2O32SiO2. The production of the thin-coat ceramic finish comprises the following: a powder mixture of 70 % SiO2 and 30 % Al2O3 is added to an alkaline electrol yte which contains liquid glass. The treatment is performed in a cathode-anode regime Jc/ Ja= 1.0-1.5. A friction surface based on the thin-coat ceramic finish consists of crystals of alpha- Al<2>O<3> which come out directly onto the surface of friction outside the matrix of gamma-Al2O3 and mullite 3 A2O32SiO2. In order to obtain the friction surface, the coating is abraded. The hardness of an abrasive tool must be higher than resistance of a base of the friction surface and not lower than the resistance of filiform crystals of alpha- Al2O3. The abrasion is continued until a pseudoviscous layer is formed. The invention ensures increased micro-hardness and crack resistance which are the main criteria of the resistance of ceramic coatings. |
