Adjuster levers (13) are hinged one end to the base plates (1) and hinged at the far end via second adjuster levers (16) to strap links (17) arranged below the rear end of the chair seat (2). The first levers (13) are joined between the end hinges (14,15) by a crossbar (18) from which a third rigid lever (19) extends to where hinged to the drive (8) push rod (12). Actuation of the drive first slides the seat (2) to the rear end then swings the footrest out and only then swivels the chair back (6) from steep to a more level repose setting.
