PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system in which transition from a public road to a toll road is accurately indicated and switching of a screen, voice guidance and a route search are appropriately conducted. SOLUTION: The system is constituted of an ETC receiving means 1 which receives signals from a road side unit of an ETC system when a vehicle enters into/exits from a toll road, a data storage means 2 which stores various data including map data and voice data, a plotting means 3 which conducts plotting of the image data stored in the means 2, an image switching means 6 which switches the images outputted from the means 3 by the signals from the means 1, and a display means 7 which displays the images outputted from the means 6. The signals received from the road side unit are used as the signals to indicate the fact that the vehicle is located at an entrance or an exit of a toll road and used to control image display and voice guidance. Moreover, employing only the signals from the unit, it is accurately understood that the vehicle has moved into a toll road from a public road or vice versa. |
