PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sprocket for maintaining the smooth engagement with a chain and reduced in weight thereof with the thin structure over the whole thereof and capable of sufficiently securing the strength to the torsion and to be easily manufactured by press forming, and having good design. SOLUTION: This sprocket is formed by pressing a metal plate having plate thickness set at 4/5-1/10 of the thickness of a tooth root of an appropriate tooth to be engaged with a chain. This sprocket is formed with a wave part 2 to be amplified in the thickness direction in the periphery thereof along the circumferential direction. Teeth 5 are formed at the outer end of each top part 3 of the waves of the wave part 2 so as to set the thickness of the teeth 5 in appearance as same as the thickness of the appropriate tooth.
