PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone set provided with a pedometer function. SOLUTION: When a pedometer mode goes to an on state, a count area which is previously set in RAM 3 is cleared and '0' is displayed on a display part 14. When a user advances steps, a vibration sensor 15 outputs pulse-like voltage at every step of the user. Thus, an interruption signal is outputted to CPU 1 at every step of the user from a vibration detection circuit 16. CPU 1 conducts an interruption processing whenever it receives the interruption signal. Namely, data of the count area in RAM 3 is increased and data in the count area is outputted to the display part 14. Whenever the user advances the step, the display of the display part 14 is advanced by '1' by the interruption processing. When the step is advanced by a step setting value which is previously set, music data which is previously stored in ROM 2 is outputted to an incoming sound generation part 12 and music is emitted from a speaker 13.
