<p>The invention relates to a method for removing sulfur compounds from gas mixtures containing sulfur compounds, which comprises the at least partial oxidation of the sulfur compounds to oxidic sulfur compounds, part of which and at least 1 % (atomic) is converted to SO3, and the absorption of the resulting oxidic sulfur compounds on a suitable absorbent, whereby in case the oxidation takes place catalytically in one bed of catalyst and absorbent, the catalyst is not based on a metal from the platinum group.</p> |
