<p>The present invention provides unique oligonucleotides and fluorescent hybridisation probes that are useful in identifying fungicide resistant plant pathogenic fungi, but especially pathogenic fungi that are resistant to fungicides which are targeted to the Qo center of the cytochrome b gene such as, for example, the so-called STAR fungicides. Particularly, the oligonucleotides according to the invention can be used to develop primers for a PCR-based analysis and differentiation between resistant and sensitive fungal pathotypes and to monitor disease development in plant populations.</p> |
