PURPOSE: A method for constituting an automatic floodgate opened and shut by resistance grooves and connecting rods installed at a lower end part of the floodgate is provided to automatically maintain water level of reservoir water of an upper end of an underwater beam of a river, and prevent a flood due to backwater phenomenon by thinning the thickness of the floodgate. CONSTITUTION: A method for constituting an automatic floodgate(14) opened and shut by resistance grooves and connecting rods installed at a lower end part of the floodgate includes a plurality of resistance grooves(15,16) hollowed inside of the lower end part of the floodgate, a pair of connecting rods(17) fixed at both sides of an upper end of an upper plate of the floodgate, a movable hinge(11) installed at the connecting rod, a cylinder rod(10) axially-coupled with the movable hinge, a cylinder(9) coupled with the cylinder rod, and a cylinder bracket(8) hinge-coupled with a rear of the cylinder and fixed at a wall(18).
