The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising an exhaust fan (22) whose vacuum stream (30) is drawn into a working chamber (15) of a housing (2) via a suction channel (14). A cleaning roller (12), rotatably driven by a belt drive (16), is located in the working chamber (15) above the suction channel (14). The vacuum stream (30) is guided through an affluent channel (28) into a dust collection chamber (18) of the housing (2) and is fed from the dust collection chamber (18) to the suction connection (26) of the exhaust fan (22), using a discharge channel (29). To service and exchange the cleaning roller in a simple manner, the working chamber (15) is closed by a housing cover (5) which can be opened and the cleaning roller (12) is held between pivoting arms (65, 66) that allow it to rotate. The cleaning roller (12) can be pivoted from a working position in the suction channel (14) into a servicing position outside said suction channel, using the pivoting arms (65, 66). When the housing cover (5) is closed, the pivoting arms (65, 66) are held in the working position by retaining elements (83, 84) that are provided on the housing cover (5). |
