PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detonator or detonating method intended for explosives and affording high detonation velocity. SOLUTION: This detonating method comprises the following practice: a rare gas 1 is subjected to the explosive energy of a priming explosive 3 as the 1st explosive to generate explosive plasma followed by detonation of the main explosive 5 as the 2nd explosive by making use of the above explosive plasma; wherein the above priming explosive 3 to be used is a PBX-based explosive.
