NEW MATERIAL:A substance KS-502, expressed by the formula and having the following physico-chemical properties. Property; White powder. Melting point; 119-120 deg.C. Specific rotatory power; [alpha]D<23>=-45 deg. (C=0.3, methanol). Solubility; Readily soluble in methanol, acetone, THF, dimethyl sulfoxide, alkaline water, etc., soluble in chloroform, ethyl acetate, acetonitrile, etc., and insoluble in hexane, benzene, neutral water, acidic water, etc. Color reaction; Positive to iodine, anisaldehyde reactions, etc., and negative to aniline phthalic acid, ninhydrin reactions, etc. USE:A serotonin release inhibitor and agglutination inhibitor for blood platelets. PREPARATION:A strain of Sporothrix species KAC-1985 (FERM BP-1278) belonging to the genus Sporothrix is cultivated, preferably at 15-25 deg.C near neutral pH for 3-15 days. |
