PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sensitive recording material excellent in the light fastness of a color image and a ground texture (or a white ground) under the condition that the lustrous properties of the material is kept as they are. SOLUTION: In the heat sensitive recording material having a heat sensitive recording layer and a protective layer on a support, the protective layer includes a silicon-modified polymer and either one of the layers of the heat sensitive recording material includes a swelling inorganic lamellar compound. Preferably, the protective layer includes gelatin together with the silicon-modified polymer. As either one layer of the heat sensitive recording material, a second protective layer or a light transmittance adjusting layer provided between the heat sensitive recording layer and the protective layer, an intermediate layer provided between the heat sensitive recording layer and the protective layer or the like are exampled. |
