The wireless communication relay station apparatus relays communication between a first wireless communication apparatus and a second wireless communication apparatus at at least two frequency bands, and is provided with: a transmission unit which, at a first subframe, transmits a first uplink signal to the first wireless communication apparatus at the first frequency band and transmits a first downlink signal to the second wireless communication apparatus at the second frequency band; and a receiving unit which, at a second subframe, receives the second downlink signal from the first wireless communication apparatus at the first frequency band and receives the second uplink signal from the second wireless communication apparatus at the second frequency band.
