Cellular plastic beams - with narrow mouthed channels on the underside for engaging suspended fittings

Beams to be supported between girders forming e.g. a suspended floor or ceiling, where the beam or insert features channels which may run along and/or across the bottom face of the beam. Pref. the channels have a 'T' or dovetail cross section. Pref. beam is expanded polystyrene. Suspended items such as light fittings, plastering grids or false ceilings can be readily mounted or dismounted. Greater loads e.g. 500 kg/m2 can be supported without involving heat and acoustic losses associated with bolts which completely traverse the beam section to a back plate.
