The power drive has a drive housing with motor (14), and a spindle or shaft (16) with distal end with axial bore opposite to the motor. A gear/ transmission unit (18) is positioned between spindle and motor, and secured relative to the spindle and independent of the drive housing, so that the motor drives the spindle via the transmission unit. A grab unit is fixed in the axial spindle bore. A drive mounted about the spindle ins in operational connection with the grab unit, so that actuation of the drive in closing or opening directions moves the grab unit radial towards and away from, the bore axis.
