PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording material which can realize excellent resolution and in-pixel gradation and can hold a recording performance for a long time, by eliminating the faults of a thermal transfer system and an ink jet system, the problem of kogation in particular, while making the best use of the advantages of both of these systems. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer recording material is led to a transfer part having a porous structure by a capillary phenomenon, changed in a state by heating and transferred to an object of transfer opposite to the transfer part. The material contains the dye expressed by the general formula. (Herein a ring A denotes an aromatic or hetero ring, R1 and R2 a hydrogen atom, an alkyl, an alkenyl, a phenyl and the like and R3 and R4 an electron-attracting group and the like). |
