PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge heat in a hoistway to the outdoor in an elevator without a machine room, and to perform installation and maintenance from the inside of the hoistway in supposing a building in which getting on the roof is not intended. SOLUTION: The ceiling of the hoistway is provided with a ventilating opening to mount a ventilator. The ventilating opening is provided with a waterproof member, a top cover, and a filter. The waterproof member is shaped to pass through the ventilating opening. The top cover is of a developing structure or a slit-assembling structure with such dimensions as to pass through the ventilating opening. The filter can be removed and attached from the inside of the hoistway. The ventilator is fitted to a support capable of rotating along a pivot to be drawn into the hoistway.
