PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pigs for cleaning or coating the inside surfaces of pipe utilizing the rotating motion of the pigs which is empirically recognized and is backed by the intra-eccentric double toric flow theory and a method for cleaning or coating the inside surface of piping using these pigs. SOLUTION: The pig 1 for cleaning or the pig for coating having a columnar part of an outside diameter from 50 to 90%, more preferably from 70 to 85% of the effective bore of the piping for cleaning or coating and the method for cleaning or coating the inside surface of the piping by the rotating motion 15, 16 of the pig generated by the transfer of the pig within the piping 2 for cleansing or coating by a force feed extrusion method or suction method are provided.
