PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method and a recording apparatus which prevent characteristics proper to a channel from being promoted and being conspicuous as image defects, thereby reducing an image unevenness dependent on an arrangement of the channel. SOLUTION: In recording a plurality of colors to a recording medium with the use of a recording head 40 having a plurality of spots to be exposed to the recording medium, a recording start position is shifted at least between two colors to the upstream side or the downstream side in a vertical scanning direction in a range from (a nearly one spot) to (the number of all spots in the vertical scanning direction-a nearly one spot).
