<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a young plant of rose having cells capable of expressing an exogeneous DNA sequence and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This method for producing a young plant of rose capable of expressing an exogeneous DNA sequence comprises a process for bringing a matured cell tissue to induce callus formation on a callus-inducing medium, a process for simultaneously culturing the callus cells with cells of Agrobacterium having an exogeneous DNA sequence, subsequently culturing the cells in a selective medium and harvesting the callus cells capable of expressing the exogeneous DNA sequence, a process for culturing the cells in a reproducing medium to form a somatic cell embryo, a process for culturing the somatic cell embryo in a maturation medium to form a differentiated somatic cell embryo, a process for culturing the differentiated somatic cell embryo in a germination medium to form a germinated embryo and a process for bringing the germinated embryo to take root and producing a viable young plant. The young plant of rose having the exogeneous DNA sequence is provided by the aforesaid method.</p> |
