PURPOSE: Provided is a manufacturing method of 2-oxo-1,3-dibenzyl-cis-4,5-imidazolidinedicarboxylic acid without toxicity, explosion and danger, by not using a phosgene reagent but using triphosgene. CONSTITUTION: The manufacturing method of 2-oxo-1,3-dibenzyl-cis-4,5-imidazolidinedicarboxylic acid comprises reacting a di(alkali metal) meso-2,3-bis(benzylamino)succinate with triphosgene in a 2-phase system comprising aqueous alkali and an organic solvent at 50 degrees C or less and acidifying the aqueous phase.
