A device for treatment of the prostate, comprising a catheter (12) for treatment which is inserted through the urethra, treatment catheter (12) being provided with a front portion that comprises an expandable container (18) for fixation of treatment catheter (12) with said front portion in the urinary bladder (21) and with a drainage channel (13) ending in said front portion for drainage of urinary bladder (21). At least one hollow tip (17; 24) is provided to be extendible from treatment catheter (12) into the surrounding prostate tissue of catheter (12). Said tip (17; 24) is connected with a syringe (34) for supply of an astringent and analgesic medicine. By this method, tip (17; 24) is extended from treatment catheter (12) into the surrounding prostate tissue of catheter (12). An astringent and analgesic medicine is supplied from said syringe (34) and administered to the prostate tissue through said tip (17; 24).
