METHOD FOR MODIFYING THRESHOLD VALUES TO IMPROVE DEMODULATION PERFORMANCE OF RAKE RECEIVER

PURPOSE: A method for modifying threshold values to improve the demodulation performance of a rake receiver is provided to modify the threshold values of rake receiver demodulators in order to enhance channel demodulation performance. CONSTITUTION: If a rake receiver is initialized, a control part sets up initial upper and lower threshold values for each of the demodulators of a parallel L-path demodulation part(411). The control part checks whether a signal is received to the rake receiver(413). If the signal is received, the control part begins counting a preset demodulator check cycle using an internal timer(415). If the demodulator check cycle elapses(417), the control part checks whether the demodulators are locked or unlocked(419). The control part checks whether the number of demodulators in the locked state is '0'(421). In case that the number of demodulators in the locked state is '0', the control part sets up both of the upper and lower threshold values at less than 3dB(423).
