PURPOSE: An OSD output method is provided prevent performance lowering owing to deterioration of a cathode ray tube or a display panel. CONSTITUTION: If a power is applied to an external system, a main control part resets a start point of an OSD screen so as to appoint the start point when an image display means outputs the OSD screen(S411). The main control part judges whether an OSD active signal is inputted(S413). If so, an OSD output control signal is transferred to an OSD circuit part in a 12C manner so that the OSD screen is output(S415). The main control part judges whether an OSD inactive signal is received(S417). If the OSD inactive signal is received, the OSD output control signal is transferred to the OSD circuit part so that the OSD screen is erased(S429). If the OSD inactive signal is not received, there is judged whether the first set time elapses(S419). If the first set time elapses, the start point of the OSD screen is changed(S421), and the OSD screen is output(S423). The main control part judges whether the OSD inactive signal is input(S425). If not, there is judged whether the second set signal elapses(S427). If so, an OSD output control signal is output to the OSD circuit part. If the second set signal does not elapse, the OSD output control signal is output to the OSD circuit part so that the OSD screen is output to a presently placed point.
