摘要 PURPOSE: A thrust washer installation structure for hermetic compressor is provided to increase discharge pressure by preventing inside of the thrust washer from contacting the crank shaft and allowing the ball of the ball thrust bearing to smoothly rotate. CONSTITUTION: A crank shaft(16) penetrates through a lower thrust washer(23), a ball thrust bearing and an upper thrust washer(22), and is inserted into a rotor(12). Each of upper and lower thrust washers is arranged to tightly contact the ball of a ball thrust bearing(100). The ball thrust bearing has an inner periphery fitted to the crank shaft in a rotatable manner, and an outer periphery to which upper and lower thrust washers are inserted, maintaining a predetermined spacing between the crank shaft and upper and lower thrust washers. The ball thrust bearing is made up of a material softer than that of the crank shaft, so that the crank shaft is not damaged due to the friction between the crank shaft and the ball thrust bearing during operation of compressor.
