U-sectioned guides 90, 92, 94, 96 are arranged on a three-sectioned telescopic mast of a lift truck to house flexible fluid supply conduits 98, 108 connected between the stationary lower mast section 20 and the mast extension ram cylinder 42, chains 56 co-extending with the conduits and running in the openings of the U-shaped guides to retain the conduits therein. Each of the chains 56 is secured at one end to the lower mast section 20, passes around a sprocket 52 at the bottom of the intermediate mast section 22 and is secured at its other end to an anchor plate 50 on the cylinder 42. The two outer guides 94, 96 are mounted on the mast section 20 and the two inner guides 90, 92 are mounted on the intermediate section 22 adjacent the cylinder 42. Flexible electrical conductors 118, 134 extending between the bottom mast section 20 and an anchor block 120 on the cylinder 42 pass around tensioning pulleys 126, 140 on the section 20 and around pulleys 122, 136 on the intermediate section 22. Thereafter, the conductors pass up to the anchor plate 50 from where they pass together with extensions of the fluid conduits and with chains 48, over a sheave assembly 80 on the piston of the ram, to be connected to a carriage 26. The latter is vertically movable on the upper sections 24 of the mast during extension of the ram piston and carries a fluid pressure source valve supplied by the said conduits and having controlling solenoids supplied with power by the said conductors.
