PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device simply simulating states of different types of lights, e.g. an application for making up the face by a practical method as an auxiliary in making up. SOLUTION: This makeup auxiliary device is provided with a measurement unit 2 measuring a local phenomenon in a range to be made up or treated by an interaction of light, database 14 on BRDF of a various types of cosmetics or care products, a selecting means selecting a product, a calculating means 13 calculating the effective BRDF in the range practically made up or treated by the product based on the measurement obtained beforehand and information obtained by the database 14 relative to the BRDF of the selected makeup product, and display means 20, 40 displaying the range to be treated or made up practically using the BRDF results calculated beforehand.
