PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simply structured, inexpensive and small-sized bi- directional communicating device realizing all double bi-directional communication with a single optical fiber with reduced light loss both in transmission and reception, and further realizing a high SN and suited for efficiently coupling even with a large-diameter optical fiber such as a POF. SOLUTION: This device performs transmission/reception with a single optical fiber. A light emitting element 6 emitting a transmission beam and a lens 5 converging the beam and making it incident on the optical fiber 2 are arranged in a transmission space 16. A light receiving element 7 receiving a reception beam from the optical fiber 2 is arranged in a reception space 17. A light separation member 8 separates the transmission space 16 and the reception space 16 optically. Further, the light separation member 8 is provided with an opening part passing the transmission beam S from the light emitting element 6 through and passing the transmission beam S1 reflected by the optical fiber 2 through. |
