PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further miniaturize a video recording/reproducing device for reproducing a disk video recording medium (disk) and displaying it on a monitor screen. SOLUTION: This video recording medium reproducing device is constructed in such a manner that a monitor part 12 having a screen 13m and a disk lid 12 are held in a turnable manner in a device body 11 via a turning shaft, and all the end parts of a side opposite the turning shaft constitute the same outer edge. In addition, a locking catch 111r as the locking mechanism of the monitor part 13 is provided in a triangle part held between the outer edge of the device main body 11 and a disk placing surface, and an area is efficiency used, and the locking catch 114 penetrates the locking relief hole 12h of the disk lid immediately before lid closing to be engaged with the locking hole 13h of the monitor part 13. Thus, no interference is made with the sliding of the disk lid 12 and the monitor part 13 following turning.
