STRUCTURE FOR BALANCE SHAFT HOUSING

PURPOSE: A housing structure of a balance shaft is provided to improve maintenance and installation by dividing the balance shaft housing into two parts. CONSTITUTION: A balance shaft housing(7) is divided into two parts to support a balance shaft(5) engaged by a crankshaft and a gear in the lower part of a cylinder block(1) for rotating. An upper housing(9) supports the upper part of the balance shaft in the lower part of the cylinder block. The upper housing is separated from a lower housing(11) in mounting the balance shaft. The lower housing is installed after mounting the balance shaft and a bearing(17). The balance shaft housing improves the efficiency of maintenance with the replacement of the balance shaft and the bearing by separating the lower housing at maintenance after installation.
