PURPOSE: A length measuring method is provided to obtain reliability of connection by measuring accurate length of a bolt before and after connection of plastic regions. CONSTITUTION: A method for measuring length of a bolt comprises the steps of: forming recessed grooves at both ends of a bolt to be measured; installing a steel ball in the recessed groove; measuring length of the bolt before connection; measuring length of the bolt after connection; and deciding residual plastic deformation modulus by subtracting the length of the bolt after connection from length of the bolt before connection. Connection reliability of a bolt is obtained by connecting a bolt based on the accurate lengths.
