PURPOSE: A method for preventing tire slip in an electric vehicle is provided to prevent the slip of drive wheels on a snow road by learning the slip of the drive wheels on the snow road and then controlling a drive motor in accordance with the learned slip amount. CONSTITUTION: First, if the electric vehicle is started, the first slip amount of a wheel is calculated(S100,S110). Then, the rpm of a drive motor is controlled as much as the calculated first slip amount(S120), and the speed change of the vehicle is calculated(S130). Next, the rpm of the drive motor is controlled in accordance with the calculated speed change(S140), and the second slip amount of a drive wheel is calculated(S150). Then, the presence of wheel slip is determined by comparing the second slip amount(S160). If it is determined that the drive wheel isn't slipped, it is determined whether the speed of the vehicle is greater than a first preset reference speed(S170).
