摘要 PURPOSE: A switching operation duplexing apparatus for a communication system main board and a control method therefor are provided so that a communication service can be constantly performed by maintaining an existing call in a board fail or removal, by duplexing a switch of the main board of a base station controller. CONSTITUTION: An input buffer(11) receives data from an E1 interface unit. A memory unit(12) stores the input data from the input buffer(11), data of a central processing unit(13) and switching data. The central processing unit(13) is connected to the memory(12), for controlling the whole operation of a main board, inter-processor communication(IPC), and switching and duplexing operations. An IPC unit(14) performs an IPC with the other processor, and also performs IPC data transmission/reception between the duplexed boards under the control of the central processing unit(13). An output buffer(15) is enabled by the central processing unit(13), and operated by the state of software and hardware duplexing processors(18,19). A switch unit(16) performs time switching by the central processing unit(13). A clock receiver(17) provides a frame synchronous signal to the switch unit(16). The software duplexing processor(18) reads a state of master/slave boards by setting up a specific register. The hardware duplexing processor(19) is controlled by the central processing unit(13), for cross-checking a signal from the master/slave boards, and allowing the board having a master signal to enable the output buffer(15).
