<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary the updating speed of a photographed picture in accordance with ambient illumination and to provide constitution for reducing power consumption with respect to a monitoring camera terminal that a battery charged by a solar battery is set to be a power supply source and the photographed image is transmitted to a remote monitor center. SOLUTION: A luminance change detection circuit 013 detects ambient illuminance in accordance with the level of a luminance signal included in the photographed picture which an image pickup device 010 outputs. When detected illuminance is smaller than the threshold which is previously set, a system moves to a photographing mode where the updating speed of a screen is slow and power consumption is small.</p> |
