EXCHANGE AND SCRAMBLING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for realizing synchronization between a scrambler and a descrambler, without having to reset the scrambler and the descrambler in each frame, when scrambling is applied to the internal signal of an exchange. SOLUTION: A packet, inputted to a buffer memory 1, is subjected to contention arbitration by a contention arbitration circuit 6 and undergoes scrambling, framing and electro/optical conversion in an input interface 2. An optical switch 3 switches optical signals in each frame. An output interface 4 performs optical/ electric conversion, and descramble and fetches a packer from the frame. The scramblers in all input interfaces 2 and the descramblers in all output interfaces 4 are given a reset pulse from a reset circuit 7 via a reset line 22 of the scramblers and a set line 27 of the descramblers and respectively reset simultaneously.
